Seasonal Worker visa

A Seasonal Worker visa allows an individual to work in in the UK on short-term, seasonal roles in the horticulture or poultry industries.

How long can I stay in the UK on a Seasonal Worker visa?

A Seasonal Worker visa is typically valid for up to 6 months in the horticulture sector or from 02 October – 31 December in the year the application is submitted for the poultry production sector. Seasonal Workers cannot extend their visa beyond the initial 6-month term and cannot switch to another visa route from within the UK.

What are the eligibility requirements?

Applicants for a Seasonal Worker visa must be 18 or over, have a Certificate of Sponsorship from a licensed sponsoring employer in the UK and have enough money to support themselves during their stay (usually £1,270 in available funds, unless they are exempt).

To be sponsored as a Seasonal Worker your proposed employer must be a scheme operator which is endorsed by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) to be an approved scheme operator and licensed by the Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority. Individual employers licensed to sponsor other visa routes are not eligible for a Seasonal Worker sponsor licence.
